Research Interests (experimental)

My physics masters thesis advisor was Dr. Zhigang Chen. I worked with him and other members of the nonlinear optics group at San Francisco State. We obtained exciting results during my tenure: the first ever observation concerning one and two-dimensional soliton formation in phototrefractive oganic polymers/monolithic glasses as well as wave guidance and behavior indicative of quadratic E-field dependence of the sample. You can learn more about what I do by clicking on the link below.

I finished my current adventure in experimental physics at the University of California, Riverisde, as a researcher in the physics department, carrying out research in condensed matter physics. We were concerned with obtaining high resolution measurements of the three dimensional electron momentum and spin density of metallic and ferromagnetic thin films and crystalline alloys.

Currently, I am putting experimental physics on the back burner and trying my hand at mathematics and theoretical physics. I decided on this risky move because of my lifelong love for mathematics and physical theory - more so than experiment. Thus, at the moment, I am learning more adavced level mathematics at Sac State which will hopefully culminate in a masters degree in mathematics. If successful, I hope this will segway into a doctoral program somewhere in theoretical or mathematical physics...I hope
