Amy’s Personal Tidbit

This is my dog, Charlie. My husband and I adopted him six months ago. He likes to chew up everything when we leave him alone at the house. We’ve started leaving bones everywhere in the house, that way he’ll chew up those instead of a shoe or cloths. This seems to help a lot; it’s been three days since an incident. Charlie’s favorite time of the day is our nightly walks. We take him and our nieces down to the park and they chase each other.

Amy Johnson’s Journal of Development Process

Today I read through the assignment and looked through the tutorial.

Thursday  June 19, 2008

Today we held a meeting to discuss the final touches of our Data Base project, as well as to outline a vision for our website. There were two ideas we decided to think about. The first idea was a website of hobbies that group members enjoy. Each member would create two pages on their favorite hobby, making ten pages in total. The second idea was to have each person in the group write on their department at California State University, Sacramento (i.e. Accounting, Finance, MIS, etc.). We decided to go with the first idea of writing about our hobbies.

Thursday June 26, 2008

Today we briefly discussed what program to use for designing the web page. Pete volunteered to design the site using Dream Weaver.

Tuesday July 1, 2008

Today we were given further instruction by our new professor and decided to have another meeting during break. Ultimately we decided to go a different route. Instead of five different hobbies, we agreed on doing five different cities. Each member would write one page on the top five places to go in a given city during the summer, and one page of contact information. During this meeting we also found out that Phillip left over the weekend to go backpacking, so we decided to split up the duties of his two web pages. I agreed to write the text, and Christian and Liliya agreed to do a personal and journal page if he did not get back in time to do them himself.

Wednesday July 2, 2008

Today we discussed the write up that isn’t due until Thursday because of the new professor. We also determined what cities to do today. I’m going to do Rocklin and Roseville

Thursday July 3, 2008

Since there is no class today, I had a chance to look up information on the two cities I’m doing. I found a good website called kcra.cityvoter.com. It lists companies by city and description. I now have some good ideas on what to include by city.

Friday July 4, 2008

Today I began doing research on Rocklin and Lincoln. Both are relatively small cities. Lincoln specifically is hard to find much to do, but I feel I have found some good information so far. I live in Rocklin, so I know there is bowling, but in my research I found that there was an indoor training facility for baseball and softball. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

Saturday July 5, 2008

Today I found a few more good places in Lincoln and Rocklin. I have all the information for the four individual pages.

Sunday July 6, 2008

Today I’m adding pictures and contact information to the places I found in Rocklin and Lincoln. Google maps make it easy to find the contact information in one place. It lists the phone number, address, web page and email address if they are available.

Monday July 7, 2008

Today I have been working on editing and doing my personal page.

Tuesday July 8, 2008

Phillip is back in town today; he is going to write on another city and do his pages tonight. Since the project is due tomorrow, today is the last day of editing. Tomorrow morning the html version will be completed and uploaded.
