sfasdf 111Hi, my name is Alena Petkov and I am a one of the co-founders of The Hodgepodge Eatery.  Ever since I was a little girl I have always been fascinated with cooking and experimenting with new foods, so when the opportunity came to create my own restaurant I jumped at it with enthusiasm.  All six of the co-founders come from different parts of the world, so we decided to make an international restaurant that is as diverse as we all are.

Growing up in Kyrgyzstan, a former Soviet Union State, I got a good sense of the Russian Culture and Cuisine.  Even when my family moved to the United States when I was four, we took the culture with us and continued to cook Russian food in our home.  As soon as I was old enough, I began helping my mom in the kitchen, cooking a variety of Russian food from Borsch and Piroshki to sweet Blinchiki.  It has always been my passion.

Since I am currently a business student at Sacramento State University, I decided to mix business with pleasure by co-founding a restaurant.  I have been going to college for the past three years and plan to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in accounting.  I hope to use my accounting skills and knack for numbers in creating financial statements for our business and making it more efficient and successful in the long run.

If you would like to know more about me or the restaurant you can contact me at:
