A little about me:
My name is DJ Wright. I was born on July 14, 1991 in Eugene Oregon. For most of my life I
have been extremley passionate about track and field. I discovered this passion when I was
eight and have been in love with it ever since. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to
compete at Sacramento State University and continue my love for the sport. Sac State has an
excellent program and is a great place for any track athlete to develop their skills!
Sacramento State Track:
The head coach at Sacramento State is Kathleen Raske. Coach Raske is on her 6th year as head
coach and has turned what was a poor program into a dominant force in the Big Sky. Her staff includes
Terry Van Laningham as well as Jeff Magley. In the past five years the three have produced three NCAA
All-Americans, five USATF Junior All-Americans, 15 NCAA National Championship participants, 68 NCAA West
Region competitors, 61 conference champions,145 all-Big Sky performers, 65 event school records have been
established, and 276 all-time top five event marks have been recorded. The upcoming 2010 season is looking
to be another great year with the return of many top athletes including Ronald Brookins, Emelio Hernandez,
and AJ Reed as well as newcomers like Greg Mayo and Brad Hartman looking to make an impact.
