Textbook
: Advanced Engineering Mathematics by Erwin Kreyszig,
9th edition.
Suggested material:
The mathematical software Maple will
be used for highlighting the theoretical aspects.
Prerequisites:
Must have passing grade on Math032 and Math 45. Print your grades from MySacState and show them to me during the first week.
Homework will
be assigned at the beginning of each week and is due the following week on
Wednesday at the and of our class. No late homework
will be accepted.
Grades
are based on:
·
Homework: 15%
·
Exam 1: 25%
·
Exam 2: 25%
·
Final Exam: 35%
The
Homework Grade is computed by dropping the lowest 3 grades. The Final Exam is
mandatory and comprehensive. If your Final Exam's grade is higher than the lowest of the two midterm grades, then the lowest midterm
grade will be replaced by the Final Exam's grade.

Schedule:
HW
means homework and the exercises listed as homework must be turned in. PP
means Practice Problems and you don't need to turn them in. However, it is very
important to solve them and ask questions if you don't understand something. Also,
the examples in the textbook and their solutions are highly important. Read and
understand them before begin working on the practice and homework problems.
