Hi! My name is Jamie Smith and I am one of the co-founders of the fabulous Hodgepodge Eatery. I’m sure you’re wondering how we all got around to starting this world-cuisine restaurant. Well, it has to with the vast diversity each one of us brought to the table.

I was born in Sacramento, California and raised in the foothills, from Pollock Pines to Placerville. I could always be found with my head stuck in a book or practicing words for the spelling bee. Once even, when I was about eleven years old, I decided I would go to the library and bring home a book and audio tapes that I could use to teach myself how to speak German. I figured that since I was about three-quarters German that I might as well learn it!

So I got the basics down that way, then I took more formal training later: two years in high school and another semester in college. This brings me to where I have been currently. I transferred to California State University Sacramento in January 2007 and have been focused on my Bachelor’s degree in Business Accountancy. Because of my love of numbers, I contribute my time and knowledge towards the bookkeeping needs of the Hodgepodge Eatery.
