A Guide to Safe Car Seat Installation

Most Parents and caregivers are unaware of the risk to children when their car seats are not properly installed. Did you know that the highest mortality rate for kids age 3-14 remains traffic accidents? Many of these Deaths can be prevented with proper car seat installation. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that child safety seats can reduce fatal injury by 71 percent for infants and by 54 percent for toddlers, ages 1-4.

  • Never place a rear-facing infant seat in front of a passenger air bag.
  • Child must be in the back seat in a rear-facing car seat until 1 yr old AND 20 lbs.
