Introduction

Here in the year 2008, gas prices have completely soared. According to the Energy Information Administration, the U.S.retail gas prices averaged $2.81 per gallon in 2007, and are projected to rise to a national average of $3.84 per gallon this year and at least $4.06 per gallon in 2009. Fortunately, there are alternative ways to get to where you need to go.

 

Alternate Transportation

Passenger trains, like Amtrak and subway trains, are both great alternatives to traveling in and out of large cities. Over 25 million people chose to ride trains last year, not including the subways, and it is expected to reach 27 million by the end of 2008.
