CLASS PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Share your critique of the oral presentations
orally in class and write it in the appropriate spaces in the class
participation form.
Class participation forms should be turned in at
the end of the class sessions for which they apply.
Your critique should focus on the content, not on the style of the case presentation.
Your approach should be based on the principle
pertaining to:
Destroy (advance devil’s advocate position, challenge the facts, identify logical inconsistencies, identify analytical gaps, advance new and creative ideas/solutions)
Cooperate (departing from your “destroy” idea, brainstorm in collaboration with the presenting team to improve their case study)
Build (arrive at a consensus with the presenting team and articulate the culminating position)
If you are not able to communicate with the
presenting team due to time constraints then fill out the class participation
form and inform me at the end of the session before you turn it in.
You are allowed to turn in your critique (that
you could not orally share in class due to time constraints) twice and
potentially receive full credit.
You will not
earn credit on a critique which is already
advanced by your classmate orally in the class.
Robust preparation in advance is necessary to
fulfill this requirement successfully.
Team members should take equal responsibility in
presenting and defending their case study.
Failure to comply with the above guidelines will
result in a negative participation grade as determined by the instructor.
