I am a freshman at California State University of Sacrmento. My first year here is proving to be very difficult because of the transition right out of high school. Although it is hard I am learning the responsibilities of being a college student and how hard life really is. With the years that follow I intend on graduating with a BS in Civil Engineering and making a career out it after college. It seems like am on the right track because of the great mentors and advisors here at this school. As the famous Yoda said,"Do or do not. There is no try."
I am also a Christian. I attend church regularly when I am able too. Most of the time I can't is because of my work schedule. But, I don't let that get in the way me going. To me, I hold the word of Christ to be true and accept him as the one and only God. Although there may be other religions, me and my family are Christians. Being a Christian I have joined the club on campus called "Christians on Campus". Like going to church, I find myself not going sometimes because of my studies. I must learn to be balance my life and my life as a Christian. If I do not, I fear that something will have to give way and I will not let that happen.
I also breakdance. It's surprising how many people do not know what that is. Now with show ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) people all around the world get to see what it is. It seems as though it is getting popular again, like it was back in the 1980s when it first came out, because of all these new shows that incorporate breakdancing into them. Being a fellow breakdancer or "bboy" I joined the BRC (Beats, Rhymes, and Culture) Club on capus. There I am able to practice my moves but at the same time learn new ones because a lot of people show up that already now how to breakdance.
So, thats a little about me. I hope you enjoyed it.\p>
Like everyone, I love to eat! One of the essentials of life. That's what makes the world seem so good at times. Not only do I love to eat, I like to keep myself active. I do this by playing sports outside of school, playing chess to build my critical thinking skills, work out, etc, etc. Pretty much anything that people can do and have fun doing it, I like doing as well. I also like to touching cars. My car is a little project that I have on the side. Altough I would like to fi it up and make it go fast, I still want to pass smog and avoid those tickets for being too loud or too low. Cars are one of my passions out of the many that I have. Becoming a Civil Engineer is my true passion though. I never really knew what to do after college after I had a long talk with my sister about what to do. I figured out that Civil Engineering would be it because of what I've always done as a kid to now, build things out of nothing. Although I may not be the best at what I do, my work that I do actually works the way I want them to.
My car is what got most of my attention right now. It's an '88 Toyota Celica ST, also known as the ST162 the 4th generations of Celica's made. The 4th generation years run from 1986 to 1989. Although I might have the lowest model of my car generation, I still hold a lot of pride for it. For more information or if you would like to see other ST162's visit this website. www.st162.net.
Drawing is also what I enjoy doing when I have time. Although my artwork might not be what people call "awesome" or "cool", its just something that I do because I have a certain passion for it. I am a part of an onilne website where people post up their artwork. Follow this link to the webpage where all you will see is art work done by people around the world. www.deviantart.com. If you would like to see what I have one here, search: "by: keviouns".
I would like to take the time to thanks my friends and family for their support in my decision. A special thank you to Professor Ruthann Biel for making all this happen. Thank you.
