“Scientists think that as many as 4.5 million Americans suffer from AD. The disease usually begins after age 60, and risk goes up with age. While younger people also may get AD, it is much less common. About 5 percent of men and women ages 65 to 74 have AD, and nearly half of those age 85 and older may have the disease. It is important to note, however, that AD is not a normal part of aging.” http://www.nia.nih.gov/Alzheimers/Publications/adfact.htm

There is no cure for AD! There are ways to try to prevent AD.

One very important way is diet. Lots of fruits, vegetables, bread, olive oil, fish and even red wine may help to prevent AD. Vitamins are also another reduction of AD. Taking Vitamins E, B, C and folic acid help the risk of AD. Curry has Curcumin that has helped preventing brain damage in studies with mice.

Keeping ones mind constantly active is a great prevention to AD. Games like Chess, Suduko, crossword puzzle, puzzles, etc.,can help to reduce the risk of AD, but there is no causal relationship between them. Here’s a link of a game to Suduko! Play it and help you’re your mind active.

Just being healthy can prevent AD. Having heart problems, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and smoking help to increase AD. Keep our body healthy and don’t smoke!
