WEEK1
The first week was when our group was issued the Web project. The first few steps in the process of building our website was coming up with a subject for our website and figuring out all of the details. Such details as how we were going to divide up the different aspects of our subject (sports betting), what software we were going to use, and things of that nature. As I stated above we decided to do a website about sports betting analysis and divide it up by different sports. Each person would have a sport which they have news and betting information. My task was to have two pages that talked about the rules of sports betting, and a second that talked about strategy of sports betting. The first week of the project pretty much contained the basic outline of our project and defined that we were going to use Dreamweaver as our web development program.

WEEK2
In the second week of the project I started to attack the actual design of my portion of the website, using Dreamweaver. I did various tutorials on how to use Dreamweaver since I had not been familiar with the program at all. I learned about how to add frames, hyperlinks, and other various aspects of the program while creating my page. My specific page deals with mostly text, since I am doing an analysis of sportsbetting, so I did not include any images to my page. I played around with Dreamweaver for most of this second week and got familiar with designing my web pages.

WEEK3
The third week of the project consisted of figuring out how to transfer files from my local computer to the remote server at Sac State. I first enabled my web page by going to the schools website and clicking a few buttons. Next I learned that to transfer files to the web server, I would have to use an “FTP” program. This program I downloaded from an extension of the school’s website and then proceeded to learn how to use it. I read the how to use page from the school’s website and learned how to transfer files using the FTP program. To set up my FTP program to the Sac Link Server, I typed in the various information on the form and got a successful connection to my web page. Once I had the connection established I proceeded to use dreamweaver to transfer the pages I had created to my personal web page.

WEEK4
In the fourth week of the project which was considered the last for our particular time frame, our group discussed how we were going to finish up and link everything together. We got together and made sure everything was ready to go and that our site looked professional. We made a few minor changes here and there to different portions of the site to make sure they flowed together. When everyone was happy with the project and we had everything properly linked and looked nice, we proceeded to email the URL to the professor. I believe that this project has given me a lot of knowledge about how to build web pages and I believe that it will benefit me greatly in the future.
