Academic Background:
I have received my Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the University of British Columbia (UBC),
Canada. I hold a double-major degree in management and political science, and an MBA from
Bosphorus University, Turkey.
My current research interests revolve around understanding the role of emotions in organizational
life, with a focus on topics such as emotional climate and emotional fit, emotion and decision
making, emotions in communication process, trust and betrayal in work relationships, psychological safety and engagement at work,
and the linkages between emotions and organizational culture. I study emotions from both
individual and organizational levels of analysis, using a variety of research methods including
surveys, qualitative analysis, and experiments. I have taught in areas such as organizational communication, organizational behavior,
and management.
