Traveling to help others...

Whether it was the places I saw or the people I met, visiting the orphanage in Peru changed my life...

Peru

The following are pictures that I took while in Peru.
You can put your mouse over the text and read about each picture.
Most of the children placed into the orphanage come from areas like these
the homes are normally nothing more then a slab of cement (if they are lucky) and a few pieces of scrap metal

these are the front gates to the orphanage
I was primarily working with the girls around the age of 5-6 and this is one of the girls. We were playing with chalk outside and she was very happy

One of the projects that I decided to do with the girls was making necklaces. This is one of the girls trying to figure out how to put hers on
One of our projects while we were there was to make the toddler room look a bit more fun. So we decided to paint a mural of fish that had bright smiles and eager personalities just like the kids living in the orphange.

me and another volunteer sitting by our project feeling very happy about what we were doing.
