The Boats at KirkwallThis was our view from the steps of the hotel at Kirkwall.
I think that if God has a summer home, it's on Orkney. Winters are surely
spent elsewhere.
The largest island of the Orkney is named, in typically ironic Scotish
fashion, Mainland. There is much to see and photograph here: the
magnificent, Brodgar's Ring, the imposing (and preposterously landscaped)
Stones of Stenniss, Maes Howe (had indoor toilets in 2700 B.C.) and much
more, but the real attraction for me as a photographer is the land and
the sea. |
