University Service

Member, Urban Studies/Planning Advisory Committee [President’s Committee], California State University, Sacramento.

This Presidential Advisory Committee includes members from Sacramento State, the City of Sacramento, and regional architects, designers, and developers. Its main purpose is to design and recommend graduate-level programs in urban design and planning.

Member, Facilities Planning Committee, [Campus-wide Committee], California State University, Sacramento.

This committee reviews the campus Master Plan, building architectural designs, landscaping projects among other tasks.

Member, Computer and Technology Committee [NSM Committee], California State University, Sacramento, California State University, Sacramento.

This committee makes recommendations to the NSM Dean regarding computer and technology issues.

Chairperson, Transportation Advisory Committee [Campus-wide Committee], California State University, Sacramento.  Chairperson since January 2008.

This committee is the principal campus body responsible for recommending to the President or his designee policy on all aspects of campus transportation,
including: 1) Review and critique existing transportation programs; 2) Explore and recommend new programs and modification or elimination of existing ones; 3) Recommend priorities for use of parking fines and forfeitures revenue; 4) Aid in the development of policy proposals, fee schedules and other matters related to the conduct of a comprehensive transportation management program.

Member, Village Advisory Group [University Committee], California State University, Sacramento. 

This advisory committee sought to help Sacramento State and University Enterprises design and develop a new faculty/staff housing “village,” located on 25 acres south of campus.  One of the major goals of the project was to help the university recruit and retain talented faculty and staff.  The Village was to be more affordable than market housing and it was to contain many environmental, aesthetic, and educational qualities.

Partnership with the City of Sacramento and the Urban Design Alliance to develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) database of downtown Sacramento’s urban design characteristics.

2006-present

 

 

GIS Day Presentation titled “GIS Projects and CSUS Geography.”  This presentation was a series of PowerPoint slides that was on a continuous loop at the Geography Day 2006 event in the City of West Sacramento.  GIS Day is an international grassroots event to promote geographic literacy in schools, communities, and organizations.
