I'm a staff member, working for Computing and Communications Services since 1990.
My position title is Network Analyst; what I actually do is construct and
maintain the campus network infrastructure, so the packets that conveyed this page to
your web browser traveled over cables, hubs, and switches that I installed.
How to send me LAN info for IP updates
Note: Please send IP info to
iprequest@csus.edu rather than directly to me; sometimes I'm away,
but there's always someone covering the iprequest mailbox.
Please do not send HTML to IPrequest; it wastes bytes and bandwidth
without adding meaning, it's not Internet-standard for email (no matter
what Microsoft thinks), it introduces unnecessary risk, and it takes us
longer to process. Set your mailer to send plaintext instead, and please
consider doing so as a matter of course. HTML messages to IPrequest
which do not include a plaintext component may be returned unprocessed.

More info later... in the meantime, these thoughts:
NOTHING EVER "JUST WORKS"
... if it works, it's because someone who knew what he was doing made it work.
Paper bad! Bits good!
... you can't grep a dead tree.
Power interrupts. Uninterruptable power interrupts absolutely.
