PROLBEM:
Obesity is a concern for the Americans as the younger generations is becoming obese by the day. We as a country have to take into account how to handle and make sure that our children are eating healthy food to better their health and stay in shape and live a longer and prosperous life. According to national health and nutrition examination survey has measured that the estimate of 17 percent of children and adolescents from ages of 2 to 19 are obese. Between the years 1976 and 1980 and 1999 to 2000 the percentage has increased. While in between 1999 and 2000 in comparison to 2007-2008 there has not been a significant trend in prevalence.
A range of factors may be contributing to the increase in obesity among children. One hypothesis has been that children’s use of media may be a contributing factor. During the same period in which childhood obesity has increased, there has also been an explosion in media targeted to children: TV shows and videos, specialized cable networks, video games, computer activities and Web sites. Children today spend an average of 5 ˝ hours a day using media.
