MIS101 WEBPAGE

Intro: When you think of California many people’s first thoughts are either Disneyland, Hollywood sign, Golden Gate Bridge, Giant Redwoods, Silicon Valley, Music Festivals and even In-n-out Burger. However, there are some dark parts of California that many people don’t think about. The biggest one is the living conditions in California, the price of houses are incredibly high right now and apartments monthly rent are out of control too. It’s hard to own a place of your own in California even when you’re a college especially to the people who have no home. I’m talking of course about the homeless community, some are homeless due to psychological issues, drug addiction, or losing their job due to the economy. The homeless community have it the hardest when it comes to living their day-by-day life and not being able to go home, because they have no home. It breaks my heart seeing them on the street, holding a sign looking like they haven’t showered or slept in days. Today I want to address the homeless people, by explaining my solutions to help the homeless community and help them find a new home and potentially help them with their mental problems.

Objective 1: Decrease the amount of homeless people on the street. We roughly have 25-30% of homeless people on the street I would like to have it be 10-20% by the end of 2024-2025.

Objective 2: As of right now we have around 20,000 homes but, we will increase that number by 3000,000 by the year of 2024.

Objective 3: I want the government to be able to fund more money into creating an organization that helps homeless people with their mental illness. They spend around 3,000,000 a year so I’m hoping they can spend around $40,000,000.

Objective 4: 15% of homeless people have a mental illness such as anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder and we wish to decrease the percentage by 10-8% by giving them a home and the help they need.

Objective 5: We also want to make the cities cleaner by 25% while at least a good amount of dirt and garbage are approximately 40% of the USA which is controllable and caused by homelessness.

Closing Statements: Today I wanted to share with you my ideas on how we can help the people fight or to find their home. I hope that even one of my ideas has convinced you into believing that we can help these people in this struggle. These benefits may take time to create but, it’s better than hoping that they will someday find a way to fix their problem some of these people aren’t capable enough of solving these problems on their own. Please support the battle against this poverty and help them find their home or fight for their home.
