Health and wellness within college students is often overlooked due to the stressors and work loads that college students have to endure on a daily basis which limits the ability for individuals to contemplate on how to improve their daily lives even at a young age. Due to this unfortunate reality, obesity within college students has rapidly been increasing across the nation and the lack of knowledge around the world neglecting to stress the importance of this global pandemic can really distort college students from the sad realities of what can happen if they don’t start to take action as soon as possible.

With that being said, taking time to understand the importance of living a healthy and intentional lifestyle can really benefit college students in a multitude of ways by not only allowing them to become more self-aware about the situation at hand but by also giving them the opportunity to make the appropriate changes moving forward in their daily lives. A good place to start for college students who aspire to make a change is by learning about the human body and how certain food groups can affect one’s physical and mental health both individually and simultaneously. By college students having this understanding in mind, they can push their college campuses to opt for better food options around campus instead of going the easy route and having fast food restaurants that provide little to no nutritional value and also leave college students feeling horrible about themselves throughout the rest of the day.
