Why Should Sou Shop Sustainably?

Fast fashion has boomed in the last 10 years especially through the evolution of social media advertisement. Social media platforms have sold our personal data collectively fine tuning our wants and needs as far as consuming. Online shops like fashion nova, shein, boohoo and many more are creating a high volume of clothing advertising in a way that convinces its audience that they have the trendiest good quality clothing items by using influencers and celebrities to promote. The people that work these factories make far below minimum wage and the impact these cheaply made clothes have been problematic on our environment. Companies like this not only practice abusive working environments but they create a lot of waste. Textile waste is massive because of over-consumption. Textile dyes is the second largest pollution. Fast fashion clothing is made to last it’s made for hypercomputation. The fall apart within a few months and you must buy more and more creating a lot of waste. Whereas if we bought from brands that were sustainable and would last longer, we wouldn’t be over consuming products that have us brainwashed into thinking we need to buy from them because our favorite celebrities promoted it

I plan to educate people in hope that they will pick clothing that will not only last longer but will make an impact.
