Tackling Traffic
Pushing development to start implementing the “walkable city” infrastructure.
Traffic is perhaps one of the most apparent and extensive problems in the everyday lives of citizens. A report by CNN states that commuters waste an average of 54 hours a year in traffic.
It is noted that these hours are much higher in larger metropolitan areas, the issue at hand isn’t just “rush hours” and occurs at other times of the day, and it should be noted here that even if 54 hours a year is the average, it will not always feel like that and feels like much more as commuters lose chunks in the morning and afternoon-evening commutes home. |

The solution to traffic entails influencing and starting a movement of all near-future development projects to include a walkable city initiative.
· With implementing a walkable city initiative into all future developments, we hope to create revamped cities that introduce more new projects better catered towards an inclusive city landscape that can fit affordable housing, more inner-city housing, and an alleviated traffic/freeway system.
· If more cities are more inclined to be suited for the walkable city environment, not as many drivers and commuters will be on the road.
· This is also catered towards the shift in workplace being primarily from home or remote positions, and positions cities for future-proof insurance as the socio-cultural shift settles onto what it will and may be for the unforeseeable future.
