Tip 1: Reach Out and Stay Connected

·       Look for support from people who make you feel safe.

·       Make face time a priority.

·       Try to keep up with social activities.

·       Find ways to support others.

·       Join a support group

Tip 2: Do Things That Make You Feel Good

·       Aim for 8 hours of sleep.

·       Keep Stress to a minimum.

·       Practice Relaxation Technique.

·       Come up with a list of things to do for a quick mood boost.

Tip 3: Get Moving

·       Fatigue will improve if you stick with it.

·       Find exercises that are continuous and rhythmic.

·       Add a mindfulness element.

·       Pair up with an exercise partner.

 

Tip 4: Eat A Healthy, Depression-Fighting Diet

·       Don’t Skip Meals.

·       Minimize sugar and refined carbs.

·       Boost your B vitamins.

·       Boost your mood with foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Tip 5: Get a Daily Dose of Sunlight

·       Take a walk or have coffee outside.

·       Exercise outside.

·       Increase the amount of natural light in your home.

Tip 6: Challenge Negative Thinking

·       Challenge All or Nothing Thinking.

·       Challenge Overgeneralization.

·       Challenge Ignoring the positive and focusing on negative.

·       Challenge jumping to conclusions.

·       Challenge Emotional reasoning.
