The Major Health Issue of Excess Body Weight/ Obesity

The current major health issue of excess body weight/obesity is caused by distinct contributing factors that can be genetics, metabolism, environment, behavior, and culture. They encompass factors of either overeating, a bad diet, eating too frequently, medications causing weight gain, psychological factors, and the lack of any physical activity. As stated by the CDC the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the reason this is such a prevalent health issue here in the United States is that it eventually leads to a higher risk of extremely detrimental chronic diseases. The overarching objective with creating this webpage is centered on providing solutions for this issue in order to create a diminish in the amount of people with excess body weight/obesity. Using the internet as a medium for addressing this problem is extremely valuable since it will make these useful tips more accessible so it can cause a positive impact to those individuals who implement these approaches into their everyday life.

What are some Alternatives/Solutions to improve the results of this issue?

1.     Make sure to plan a schedule for making it a priority to exercise or workout this means making time to move one’s body. The recommendation from the CDC is 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity per week.

2.     It’s important to start slowly and not go overboard at the beginning so that way one can stay consistent and not lose focus when it comes to following an exercise regime.

3.     There is a need to focus on incorporating more servings of fruits and vegetables in every meal from 5 to 9 servings per day. This will push the initiative of keeping the calories at a normal amount and overall reduce the risk of overeating.

4.     The consumption of less processed and sugary foods is a great implementation as well since they these foods are linked to a higher risk of obesity.

5.     Also making sure to drink lots of water 6-8 glasses is a great amount to try to consume every day in order to keep one hydrate and eliminate waste/toxins.

6.     In order to control eating behaviors, it’s important to not eat so frequently eat the necessary 3 regular meals a day with limited snacking to stay on track.

7.     In order to keep a person accountable in reducing their body weight it’s a great idea to get family involved or even have them join in so that way the healthier lifestyle will be constant.

8.     It’s important to keep track of any weight gain especially if caused by any medications in order to be aware of that change.

9.     It’s important to have control overeating habits when psychological factors take control so that way stress and anxiety won’t lead to dysfunctional eating patterns as binging/ indulging in high calorie saturated fat foods.

10.  In order to be able, reduce the health issue of obesity its important and recommended to use some sort of weight training since incorporating it helps with losing body weight.

By following the Alternatives/Solutions stated above these are the Objectives that can be achieved:

By at least incorporating 30 minutes of exercise at least 3 times a week it links to 42% lower risk of obesity.

A higher intake of fruits and vegetables causes a 25% lower risk of becoming obese and having a lower weight.

By avoiding binge eating it will lead to 50% more chance of losing a significant amount of weight.
