Statistics According to the most recent
Point-In-Time (PIT) count conducted throughout Sacramento County, more than
5,500 people are experiencing homelessness on a given night. That is an
increase of nearly 20% from 2017 and just over 2,650 people in 2015. The
count, which is conducted every two years, was last taken over two nights in
January 2019. – ABC 10 News The 2020 PIT count has been postponed
due to COVID related concerns. The numbers above do not count for those
displaced in 2020 due to the pandemic, and reduced availability of resources
for those affected by homelessness. |
Homelessness in Sacramento has been a
pressing issue, even before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Homeless

for your district here, to voice your concerns about this issue, and to
motivate them to avoid postponing the count for 2021: CA Representatives Lobby your local politicians to make
changes to the way the state treats the homeless. Implore them to create
state programs that help educate the members of the public, as well as the
civil servants that work for the public. |
