Here is a picture of my cat Cleo with a broken leg. What happened was, she was standing on our kitchen table on top of some car ads that my brother wanted to look at. He thought it would be a funny idea to pull the ads right out from under her. However, it was not funny and ended up injuring Cleo. When he pulled the papers from under her it caused her to get her leg caught in between the backing of the chair causing her leg to snap. Cleo let out the loudest and meanest sound she had ever made. She quickly limped away and hid under my parent’s bed so no one could touch her. Eventually, we were able to get her and take her to the vet. The whole time at the vet I kept thinking my cat was going to die or that she was going to end up in a wheel chair, something my brother told me. Thankfully, the doctor came out and told us that it was nothing more than a broken bone and that she would need a cast for the bone to heal properly. The vet was kind enough to let me pick out the blue cast that she is wearing in the picture.

Signs that your cat has a broken bone

• Watch for crying,howling, moaning, or growling especially if touched
• If your cat isn't walking or not using a limb or tail, they might be injured
• If your cat isnt eating or grooming itself, probably has a broken limb
• Swelling or bruising at the injured area is another sign that they have a broken bone
