Nearly 11 million children in America are poor and the effect of poverty on children begins before they’re even born. No child deserves to live in poverty. Hand in hand we can end this problem.

             SOLUTION IDEAS:

1.   GUARANTEE THE CHILDREN’S BASIC NEEDS

-       Increasing housing assistance to poor families, so they can provide a comfortable home to raise their children. Also, increase food assistance and support health care programs to take care of the children’s nutrition needs.

2.   CREATE MORE JOBS

-       Expand jobs to adults who didn’t have access to education and increase their minimum wage, so they could provide quality care to their children and could afford to send them to school and get the best benefits from getting good education.

3.   IMPLEMENT A CHILD SUPPORT PROGRAM

-       A child allowance would benefit poor families and would encourage them to buy things without restrictions such as foods on the table and a secured housing.

4.   LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD FOR POOR CHILDREN

-       It is important that children have access to affordable physical and behavioral healthcare, great learning opportunities, and opportunities to attend school.

5.   INCREASE EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT

-       Increasing earned income tax credit would benefit individuals who are low-income workers with children and would play an important role to help provide financial security.

OBJECTIVE GOALS

1.     By 2025, with the implementation of ensuring children’s basic needs are met, the effect of poverty will diminish impact on their lives.

2.    Government should act on the child support program, so it can help children in poverty immediately.
