With the current political divide happening in today’s environment, it can be hard to distinguish what ideologies political figures are promising in their campaigns.  This website is dedicated to upholding the power of information so the public can be truly informed on what policies affect the rights of the LGBTQI+ community and how your vote could  affect the rights of our neighbors in the community.

Presidential Candidates Stances on LGBTQI+

Joe Biden

Believes that every human being should be treated with respect and dignity and be able to live without fear no matter who they are or who they love.

  • Protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination.
  • Support LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Protect LGBTQ+ individuals from violence and work to end the epidemic of violence against the transgender community, particularly transgender women of color. 
  • Expand access to high-quality health care for LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • Ensure fair treatment of LGBTQ+ individuals in the criminal justice system.
  • Collect data necessary to fully support the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Advance global LGBTQ+ rights and development.

Even though there have been statements claiming the “unprecedented steps” in support of the LGBTQI+ community, here is a list of the attacks his administration has levied against the community.

  • Allowed emergency shelters to deny access to transgender and gender nonconforming people
