Depression is way more common than people realize. And there is nothing to be ashamed of. Every day, people around us are struggling with depression, often silently because they are too afraid to share their feelings. Some of them are not aware of the proper help they can get

WHAT IS DERESSION?

 

 

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression is a common illness worldwide, with an estimated 3.8% of the population affected, including 5.0% among adults and 5.7% among adults older than 60 years. There are effective treatments for depression which helps people suffering from depression and overcome to live a better life.

 

SOME OF THE SYMPTONS ARE:-

·      Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness

·     Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters

·     Anxiety, agitation or restlessness

·      Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things

·     Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or self-blame

·     Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide

YOU CAN OVERCOME DEPRESSION WITH THE HELP OF YOUR YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES

1.    Therapy: - Going to a certified therapist would help the person identify and work through the factors that may be triggering the depression.

2.   Meditation: - Meditation helps you get away from all the problems that’s been bother you. When you're worried or nervous, your mind frequently wanders to unfavorable thoughts, feelings, or physical sensations. Meditation teaches the brain to maintain attention and to return to that focus when these distractions occur.

3.   Medication: - Antidepressant medications can be helpful for reducing depression symptoms in some people, especially in people with severe depression.

4.   Communication: - Communication is the key to anything, you can communicate with a person who is close to you and express how you are feeling.

5.    Exercise: - Exercise is a great way to improve self-esteem and self-efficacy for everyone. Not much time, just 30mins of exercise everyday could significantly help to overcome symptoms of dispersion.

6.   Family time: - Spending time with family has been linked to a healthier lifestyle, a shorter lifespan, and a reduction in stress and anxiety, according to studies. The support of your family inspires you to strive for betterment

7.    Sleep: - Getting a good night's sleep is an important factor of your depression management strategy. In addition to having greater energy and attention when you're well-rested, you may also have happier attitude about life

8.   Traveling: - Traveling and vacation promote happiness, which of course boosts your mood and promotes optimism. Having new experiences is beneficial for improving brain function and boosting your mental health

9.   Diet: - Diet is such an important component of mental health. Introducing fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains to your daily diet is helpful. Also drinking water is effective as well for a better health.

10. Religious help: - Religion provides a feeling of order, something to believe in, and often a community of individuals with whom one can identify because of shared views. These elements may significantly improve mental wellness and symptoms of depression
