The Bigger Picture

While we do what we can to help our community we want to make a bigger impact in California and are pushing to pass legislation that will help families become healthier.  We are striving to make a long-term impact to help future families live a healthier and better life.

·      We are pushing to pass a law that provide 200 million dollars a year in produce vouchers that partner with local California farms to provide access to healthy food to disadvantaged families.

·      We are passing a law banning any juices and sodas being served at schools.  We can as a result analyze the reduction in soda and juice consumption overall because schools are major suppliers in sugary drinks.

·      We will push to pass legislation to require classes to teach nutrition and how to read food labels.  This will also be tested on yearly state exams so we can measure how much students understand.
